The educated citizen
BC’s Curriculum enables students to graduate as “Educated Citizens” of the 21st century, with the necessary qualities to seize a wide array of global opportunities.
Academically, students will develop the abilities for critical analysis and independent reasoning. They will acquire basic learning skills and bodies of knowledge. More importantly, students will develop a lifelong appreciation of learning, a curiosity about the world, and the capacity for creative thought and expressions.
Personally, students will develop a sense of self-worth and personal initiative, as well as an understanding of cultural heritage and the significance of physical well-being. They will maintain an accepting and respectful mindset for different ideas and beliefs. More importantly, students will become aware of their responsibilities as an individual within the family, the community, Canada and the world.
Students will be well prepared to attain career and higher education goals after graduation. BC’s Curriculum ensures that students are able to adapt to ongoing change in many aspects of their lives, including the development of effective study habits and flexibility to adapt to new circumstances in the workplace.
